Summer, 1989, Derry, Maine

Maggie hadn't been able to get a babysitter for her little one that day; she and Wentworth, the children's father, were going to lunch with their childhood friends, Lilly Bainbridge and Ronnie Grogan, outside of Derry, so Richie was forced to bring his little sister with him to the sleepover at the Denbrough house.

As they walked, Richie, carrying his backpack and his sister's, held her hand. Richie was nervous. He always made perverted, adult jokes to embarrass and make his friends laugh, mostly to flirt with Eddie, but now that she was coming, he had to control himself; otherwise, Mom would hit him for sure.

As they were walking, Richie looked at his sister. "Hey, I want you to behave, okay? I'll behave! So you should too!"
