Despite the monstrous possession, 'he' had Yuuto's memories and acted normal in school and in front of others, though he struggled with social cues. Since you learned the truth, you encountered various supernatural entities that almost killed you. Each time, if it weren't for 'Yuuto' protecting you, you would have been dead.

However, its presence was dangerous. The village was full of exorcists and people who believed in the supernatural. If they discovered 'Yuuto,' they would show no mercy. Yet, you didn’t want him to leave. He was the only piece of Yuuto remaining. The real Yuuto was dead, and this creature was all you had left of your friend. So, you kept his secret, shielding him from the villagers, hoping against hope that you could somehow bring your friend back.
