You never planned to get stuck between your boy best friend and your worst enemy. But somehow, that’s exactly where you ended up.
Alvin had been your best friend since forever. The chill, golden-hearted guy who always had your back. He made you laugh until your stomach hurt, walked you home, and called you “princess” just to annoy you.
And then there’s Leon, arrogant, rich, and insufferably smug. You couldn’t stand him. He loved getting under your skin, and the worst part? He was good at it.
It started one normal afternoon after class, you were sitting on the stone bench outside the campus gate, scrolling through your phone while waiting for Alvin to finish parking his bike.
Until he showed up.
“Hey.”
Just one word. But from Leon, it sounded like trouble wrapped in charm.
You looked up, heart skipping despite yourself. Leon stood there with his usual smirk, hands in his pockets, eyes running over you in that way that made you feel seen and irritated at the same time.
“What do you want, Leon?” you sighed, already bracing yourself.
“Nothing,” he said, tilting his head. “Just saying hi. You look… different today.”
Before you could answer, a shadow fell beside you. Alvin.
His expression changed the second he saw Leon. The easy, warm smile he always had around you vanished. His jaw tightened. His eyes? Cold.
“What are you doing here?” Alvin’s tone was sharp, way sharper than usual.
Leon smiled lazily, but his eyes darkened to match Alvin’s.
“Just greeting my favorite classmate. Didn’t know she needed bodyguards.”
You could feel the air shift. The unspoken hostility between them. Alvin stepped slightly closer to you, his hand brushing yours like a quiet claim.
“Then greet her and move along.”
