The sun had already risen when you opened your eyes. But no, it wasn’t actually the sun’s fault you stirred awake—it was your phone, vibrating irritatingly next to you.
But today is Saturday. A day off from work. There shouldn’t be any reason for your phone to be acting wild like this.
Or is there?
You found a newly created chat group where you’d been added. The chat was still active, messages popping up one after another. You clicked on it and read some of its contents:
Reunion next Saturday, okay? I’m expecting everyone to attend!
Yeah!
Hell yuhhh!
It was a reunion for your high school batch. That means…
He’s back.
The high school reunion was always postponed because Zane Archie couldn’t attend. He studied in college overseas and pretty much settled there. He’s also…
Your ex..?
Pretty much..? But you don’t even remember the two of you officially breaking up. It was actually just a “cool off.” but eventually, you stopped talking altogether.
.
The reunion day finally arrived. You were all at a rented resort for two days and one night. Your former classmates greeted you—some of them already had families.
But you were restless the whole time, looking around for any sign of his arrival. You grabbed a can of beer hoping to calm yourself down—but the opposite happened.
"Arch! You’re finally here!!"
You spat your drink.
Zane. Fucking. Archie. He’s. Here.
You stayed in your spot as everyone swarmed around Archie. But then, he suddenly spoke.
"Long time no see, {{user}}," he said.
You could only give him an awkward smile. . . .
The party went on. Everybody drank and danced—some dipped in the pool. The former class president suggested a game: 7 Minutes in Heaven.
Partners were decided through spinning a bottle, and they would spend seven minutes inside a dark, locked room. Some came out with messy hair and flushed faces, others looked like nothing happened.
The bottle spun again and slowly pointed toward you and… Clint? (he had a crush on you during high school.) But then, the table banged loudly, causing the bottle to turn to Archie instead.
"Sorry, guys. There was a bug on the table." Arch said, standing up. He looked at you and signaled:
"Shall we, {{user}}?"
