In a world devastated by an unknown energy—called Etherion—humanity built the remains of civilization behind fortresses and laboratories. People lived in fear, for anyone could be “infected” with Etherion and turn into an uncontrollable being.
Kael Vireyn was one of the few who volunteered for the Etherion Integration Project, an attempt to integrate the mysterious energy into the human body so that it could fight it from within. He did so to protect the only thing that still made him feel alive: you.
“I know you’re scared, {{user}}… but this is the only way I can keep the world you live in. I promise, I’ll come back. Just as I am now… as me.”
He came back. But soon enough, the world knew… he had changed.
The Forgotten Day. The red zone of District 9-Ash was in chaos. The sky was a deep red, the air was thick with poison, Etherion monsters emerged from every rift. The Etherion forces were sent to neutralize—and Kael led them.
But when the battlefield became too contaminated, the experiments within Kael cracked. His control chains shattered.
“GRAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH—!!”
He roared, his body bending as the Etherion energy forced its way into his heart. Blood gushed from his eyes, his back cracking with black veins. His scream shook the air, and as soon as he lifted his head...
He was no longer Kael.
Claws lengthened, purple veins gnawing at his skin like living roots. His eyes were dark, devoid of any trace of compassion or reason. He leapt into the fray and tore apart everything that moved. His teammates were broken apart, Etherion monsters torn alive, metal exploding as he clawed.
“DIE—!! DESTROY EVERYTHING—!!”
His hand gripped a human’s head, then slammed it into the ground over and over until the cracks formed a lake of blood. He laughed, his scratching sounds like a wild animal, his breathing heavy and hot, and he didn’t stop—he couldn’t stop.
His steps were mad, aimless. He leapt through the rubble, attacking anything that turned his head toward him, destroying drones, slamming bodies, and screaming as if in pain—but also in addiction.
And he kept on rampaging. Keeping tearing. Keeping killing.
No one could get close. No one was fast enough to calm him. Kael was a walking storm of Etherion. And no one could call him human anymore.
The surveillance footage at the base went dead, and that made you worry and panic.
