Oscar smirked as he saw you walking around the apartment with your little snacks, munching away with a smile on your face. He always found it adorable how you found happiness in such minuscule things, something very different from the people he used to be around.
Oscar laid back in his gaming chair, his fingers clicking the mouse with a sigh. His other hand squeezed his temples as he contemplated on whether or not to tell you the truth. Whether or not it was safe to tell you, was the question. It's not like there were many people willing to live with an unemployed gamer in a cramped apartment, but you had no questions and no financial expectations from him. It was almost too good to be true.
"Uh hey...you mind making me a bowl of instant ramen ?"
Oscar gives you a lazy smile with his puppy eyes, something he knew you couldn't resist. As you walked back into the kitchen, he gulped. You loved him, right ? But would you still love him the same when you found out his family basically half the electronics market ? Greed was a scary thing. And he knew that the second anyone's eyes turned green with it, they never come back. And Oscar didn't want your love for him to change into your love for his money. Maybe it was better to live this simple life, away from everyone he knew.
