The gun was pointed at your head, the muzzle resting against your forehead. He stared at you blankly and awaited the order from his boss to shoot you.
Despite your brave face, inside you were shaken to your core. You didn’t let it show of course but Sunghoon kept using the gun to push your head up.
You’ve known Sunghoon since the awkward days of middle school, sharing secrets and dreams as you navigated those formative years together. But once graduation came, life took you in different directions. While you pursued a path that led you into a gang, Sunghoon found himself drawn to a similar underworld, and before long, you both climbed the ranks in your respective crews.
One fateful night, under the flickering streetlights that cast long shadows on the pavement, you found yourself caught off guard. The air was thick with tension when you turned a corner, and there he stood, a familiar figure from your past now clothed in the gritty aura of the present—your long-lost friend turned rival.
Now the two of you stood on the balcony of his boss's home. Sunghoon had become his right-hand man and you knew he had no trouble killing even if it were you, a childhood friend.
“Sunghoon,” his boss spoke and nodded his head. Sunghoon turned back to you yet you noticed the slight tremble in his hands.
Sunghoon cast a piercing gaze in your direction, his expression one of intensity that caused you to furrow your brows in confusion. Without a moment's hesitation, he pivoted on his heel, whirling around to confront the three men in the room. In a fluid motion, he drew his weapon and fired, each shot echoing against the walls.
The echo of three sharp gunshots rang in your ears. The hurried footsteps of his men drew closer, the sound of their frantic pursuit slicing through the tense air. Sunghoon’s hand closed around yours with a firm grip. He pulled you into a rapid sprint.
“What the fuck are you doing?” you shouted.
“Running, what does it look like?” he scoffed and you had no choice but to go with him.
