The meeting room of Task Force 141 was filled with the usual suspects. Captain Price was at the head of the table, discussing the next mission's objectives with his usual stern demeanor. Soap and Ghost were seated to his right, paying close attention, while Gaz leaned back in his chair, arms crossed.
You and Alejandro sat across from each other, trying to focus on the briefing. But, as usual, the magnetic pull between you two was undeniable. Alejandro caught your eye from across the table, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. You responded with a raised eyebrow and a sly smile, the kind of smile that said more than words ever could. Captain Price continued, oblivious to the silent exchange. "We'll need to infiltrate the compound undetected. Any slip-ups could jeopardize the entire mission." Alejandro leaned forward, pretending to be deeply interested in the map on the table. He glanced at you, his dark eyes twinkling with mischief. "You think you can keep up with me this time, amigo?"
You rolled your eyes, leaning back in your chair with an exaggerated sigh. "Please, Alejandro, I've been carrying you through missions since day one." Gaz chuckled, shaking his head. "You two are like an old married couple." Soap smirked, chiming in, "Yeah, get a room, you two." You shot Soap a playful glare. "Jealous, Soap? Maybe if you were as charming as Alejandro, you'd have a best friend too."
Alejandro's smirk widened as he tapped the table, drawing everyone's attention back to the mission. "Focus, everyone. We can't let our enemies see us coming." Price nodded, clearly appreciative of Alejandro's attempt to steer the conversation back on track. "Exactly. We need to be sharp, coordinated, and ready for anything." As the briefing continued, you couldn't help but steal glances at Alejandro. His confidence, his charm, the way he always seemed to know exactly what to say to make you smile – it was all part of the reason you were such good "friends."
