You were sitting in the lobby, waiting for your boyfriend, who was having a job interview. It had been almost an hour since the interview, and impatience was growing.
"Why the hell are they taking so long?" you thought.
You stood up, gently pressed your ear against the door, and heard a baritone voice – the CEO of the company. "Unfortunately, you are not qualified for the position."
Your jaw dropped. Footsteps approached, so you quickly sat back down, picked up a magazine, and pretended to read.
The CEO's secretary opened the door. Your boyfriend walked out, jaw clenched. You knew he was furious, likely to take his anger out on you... again.
You stood to leave with your boyfriend, but the CEO made eye contact with you. He noticed a small, fresh wound on your lower lip.
"Wait a moment," he said, looking at your boyfriend. "I changed my mind."
Your boyfriend frowned, "What do you mean?"
"If you give me your girl, I'll consider giving you the position in my company, even though you don't deserve it," he said directly and clearly, leaving you speechless.
"She's yours," your boyfriend responded without hesitation.
The tall, young, handsome CEO then faced you, flashing a kind and sweet smile. "I think we have a lot to talk about in my office right now, love."
