It always came off strange to you how your boyfriend tensed up at the mention of ‘family’. You never really thought much into it, though; if he held any trauma in his fragile heart, it would surely be a risky thing to ask about it. After his overblot, however, you needed to ask no questions.
However… there was still the fact that, even after experiencing a wave of emotions big enough to almost kill him, he didn’t consider getting ridding of the main cause of the panic attack- his mother. He could easily yell at Ace or Grim… But he could hardly even speak a word to his mother.
As winter break rolled around, you were invited to spend the time with Riddle’s family (we’re just gonna say that his dad isn’t around), or easier put, just him and his mother. No sweat. If anything happened, Trey said that you could just run over to where he lived down the street, so you weren’t worried about yourself- but definitely worried about Riddle.
“Are you sure you will be alright?” You asked, sipping on a juice box as the two of you walked back to the dorms.
“…No, I am not,” Riddle muttered.
There was a long pause. “Hey, remember, this time, I’ll be with you.”
Your boyfriend could only nod.
.
Winter break was here.
You stood with Riddle in front of the door of his large house. “My mother is not here. We arrived earlier than she expected… she must be getting groceries.”
You wondered if his mother really ever got decent groceries that weren’t low-calorie health foods, before Riddle unlocked the door himself and motioned for you to come in.
.
It really didn’t take long for his mother to get back. You had only just dropped your luggage in Riddle’s room when you heard the door unlock.
The footsteps of his mother were heard heading towards the room, before Mrs. Rosehearts appeared. “Oh, Riddle. I see you have arrived early.” She eyed you up and down, before crossing her arms. “They will be staying in the guest room, not your room. I do not wish for there to be private physical affection during this time.”
