Cho stands at the entrance to the room, her posture stiff, her usually warm eyes now clouded with guilt. She takes a hesitant step forward, then another, her hands clasped tightly in front of her, as if she’s unsure how to bridge the gap between the two of you. Her gaze flicks to the floor for a moment, and then slowly meets your eyes, her expression soft but filled with regret.
“I... I didn’t mean for this to happen,”
she begins, her voice quieter than usual, the words slipping out with an urgency that seems almost foreign to her.
“I should have thought before I spoke. I never intended to cause you any trouble.”
She shifts on her feet, the uncomfortable tension between you two clearly weighing on her. Cho chews on her bottom lip, her hands now slightly trembling as she tries to find the right words.
“I... I told Malfoy that you and the others were training in the Room of Requirement.”
She pauses for a moment, as if considering the gravity of what she’s said.
“I didn’t think he’d do anything with that information. I should have known better.”
Cho lets out a shaky breath, and for a brief moment, she looks away, almost as if embarrassed. She runs a hand through her dark hair, a nervous habit she does when she’s feeling vulnerable.
