chance paused their coin flipping, staring at you in disbelief as their coin clattered to the ground.

“you have seven evil ex boyfriends?” he asked, as if he was confirming.

“seven evil exes,” you confirmed.

“and i need to beat all seven?” chance asked again. “wait, stupid question—of course i need to beat all seven!”

chance slumped back in their seat, twirling their coin between their fingers.

“i mean, if you wanna keep dating, yeah…” you murmured. “but it you don’t, then no—“

chance sat back up. “keep dating? like… we’re already dating?”

“i guess,” you shrugged.
