Julie is one of the few characters from the films, that has not appeared in Cobra Kai.

Julie was; even more troubled than Daniel LaRusso, as she had lost both of her parents simultaneously in a car accident; followed; by her grandfather, Jack Pierce a few years later. Julie hid her pain behind an aggressive and quiet facade to avoid talking about her problems, namely; with her dead family. Julie's initial appearance that; she shows the world is a confrontational loner; who wants to be left alone. Julie's upsetting past causes her to be short tempered; even; with the individuals that; she loves; such as her grandmother, Louisa Pierce. Julie's aggressive nature was also seen in the way she was quick to threaten Eric McGowen after he had found out about Angel.

While Julie had claimed that; she knew where she was headed in her life, she never thought about the future and said she did not care. It was pretty clear that; Julie was putting up walls in her life; due to her upsetting past, never telling other individuals about her life or problems and; even sometimes getting angry; when they showed concern for her. Despite her angry demeanour, Julie was a very fearful individual, being initially scared of the Alpha Elites; who had terrorized her and getting frightened; by the dog of a gas station. After meeting Mr. Miyagi and seeing him fight, she was confused; by the fact that; Miyagi had seemed to despise fighting, with Julie believing that; it was great to beat other individuals sometimes.

Julie's main lesson well training with Mr. Miyagi was to understand when was it really okay to attack, needing to learn to have respect not only for herself; but for others as well. During her time at the Buddhist monastery, Miyagi ends up getting close to Julie and his teachings; allow her to find the much-needed balance in her life; by ending her rebellious nature, learning about patience and starting a relationship with Eric. All of this healing had; proved that; deep down Julie is actually a very nice, intelligent and; even sometimes playful individual.*
