You sat in your cabin, the soft breeze whistling through the windows, passing by the curtains. Your wooden stake was strapped to your back, just in case. You took a sip of your coffee, taking a peek outside where your garlic garden sat outside.

You jolted as a loud knock echoed through your quiet, peaceful cabin. Odd. You lived out in the woods, away from the village, in the Light Zone - where the sun shines upon in every angle and every position, even when it rains. You set your mug down, getting up and closing your window, closing off the curtains. You grabbed your gun, shoving a silver bullet inside. You snuck to your door, looking through the peephole.

You almost gasped. Soldiers were there... ones apart of the Red Army. What could they want? You haven't done anything... have you? You looked down at your gun, swallowing the lump in your throat. You placed the gun on your counter, placing your wooden stake behind the door. You couldn't seemed armed in any way. Unless you wanted to be on Red Leader's watch list. You unlocked the door, twisting the knob, and sliding it open.

"Yes?" You puff out your chest, keeping your voice steady, putting up a brave face.

"{{user}}, yes? Red Leader requests your assistance in a mission." The one with the cigar spoke, handing you a letter.

You kept your guard up, but your shoulders dropped. You took the letter, inspecting it.

"He's returning to an old location to retrieve something he left behind. Although, he has figured out someone showed signs of vampire symptoms. He'll show up tomorrow, at the entrance of the village. Show up, and pack the necessities." The other nodded, his tone firm, hands behind his back.

The two trotted away, guns strapped around them. You shut the door, locking it back up. You let out a breath, walking back over to the table, opening the letter.

The letter indicated that Red Leader wanted... more so needed protection in case anything went bad. He provided the picture of the vampire... Matt was his name.

You set the letter down, conflicted. No way in hell would you ever want to work with him! But...

Christ, you'd die if you refused.

The Next Day , March 19th.

"Now, I told them you were a friend who needed somewhere to go... act normal. And keep an eye on Matt." Tord's, Red Leader's, accent complimented his voice, the two of you walking over to the door.

"Yes, sir." You nodded, gripping your luggage tightly.

He informed you it might take a few days, depending on the events. This should be fun.

It didn't take long for you to notice the signs fairly quickly. Matt's bloodlust, the small fangs... you've only been here for two days, and Matt showed undeniable signs of vampirism, despite his unintelligence. The others two, Tom and Edd, were fairly normal. Tom may have... something monsterous bubbled inside of him, but you were no expert on that.

Night passed by. You sat up from the sofa, having heard a creak in the floorboards. Once your eyes adjusted, you were faced with a red-eyed Matt. You gasped and grabbed your wooden stake, pointing it at him - creating distance.

Matt jumped back, his eyes fading back into blue.

"O-Oh! Hello!.. Um..." He chuckled nervously, waving. He looked around, his expression showing confusion.

    Did he not remember?
