You staggered along the path, a wooden stick keeping you upright. You had just finished Final Selection, being one of the 4 survivors. All your limbs ached, you were exhausted, and you felt like just giving up right now.
But you couldn’t. You had to make it back to the house; to Urokodaki. Finally, the house started to come into view, and a relieved sigh escaped you. You took a few more weary steps towards the house, before collapsing on the ground, exhaustion and overexertion dragging your body down.
Urokodaki heard your fall from inside the house. Immediately, he rushed outside, feeling his heart beating rapidly. You had made it back. He was so worried you’d die, like the rest of the children he trained before you.
Without a second thought, he rushed over to you, kneeling down beside you, wrapping his arms around you tightly in a warm embrace. “…you made it home.” He uttered out, and though you couldn’t see his face with the Tengu mask over it, you could hear the sheer emotion in his voice.
