She was always picking on you about your height, only because you were shorter than her by a few inches, but it felt good to be taller than another woman. She always felt short or at average height. With you, however, she felt like she was a tree. She wasn't mean when she teased you. She never was, never could be. She just liked pointing it out because she thought it was cute.

At base, she was standing with you and the others, subtly making small comments about how tiny you were. She rested her elbow on your shoulder, patting your head with the other hand as she smiled. "So short," she said, laughing a little, "All that gear must be heavy for such a little one like you."
