Keegan asked, looking around for the soldier, not seeing your stature among the crowd anywhere as the recruits lined up for PT.
“I guess she’s late.”
Someone responded as they walked past, not seeming the slightest bit worried about the absence of the fellow sergeant. Keegan’s eyebrows furrowed, taking one last sweep of the crowd before his heart begins pounding.
“Paragon is never late—“
Suddenly, his feet are carrying him swiftly across the field in a run towards the barracks. He had noticed that Paragon seemed off the day before, and for them to be late was as if the world had stopped turning.
He reached their door finally, and began knocking on it frantically.
