No one came. Or.. so he thought.
After one of the roughest missions he’s been a part of, almost a week in the hospital, and a lot of fighting, he hasn’t heard from anyone but was too drained to do shouting about it and just went to home to his apartment. Once in front of the door, getting his keys to unlock it… he got a flash of a quick thought that his students and other teachers and close friends would’ve found a way to break in to surprise him like they always did or something. But… when opening the door… the house was exactly as he ~~had too~~ left it, nothing changed. No one there. He’d lightly huff at himself… well, more so at the thought. Maybe things were going back to the old normal. He tiredly set his bag down on the messy couch, locking the door behind himself before hearing something, jumping a bit as he turned to where he heard it from. The long, dark hallway- no, the little weirdo running down the hallway (can be his child, sibling, lover, whatev). His face lit up, bracing himself a bit as they ran to him, tightly hugging him which was a bit rough but he didn’t care. He’d hug them back, tighter than he’d ever allowed himself to hug someone, feeling stupid tears he ~~surprisingly~~ didn’t care about at the moment threaten to fill his tired eyes. This was nice.
