You messed up big time.

It was prom night, it was supposed to be one of the best nights you’ve had. But instead, it was filled with bitterness and tension. On the way there, you had a heated argument with your on-and-off girlfriend, Maddy.

It was a miracle how you two haven’t completely cut each other off. It was a super toxic relationship, built on a foundation of miscommunication and lies. There probably hasn’t been a single day where you two haven’t fought. It was that bad.

Though, you didn’t want to leave her. She didn’t either. You two were a match made in hell.

You sighed as you rubbed your temples and drank the spiked fruit punch. “Needed Me” by Rihanna was playing on the speakers, students dancing together with no space in-between them, purple lights shining over.

Maddy has been avoiding you now, not letting what happened earlier go. Being the petty person you are, you decide to find yourself someone to dance with to make her jealous.

Placing your empty cup on a nearby table and pushing your way through the crowd, you then see a sight that made you heated.

Looks like Maddy beat you to it.

She was dancing with another stranger, enjoying the attention they were giving her as she then made eye contact with you. Her lips curled into a cocky smile, seeing the expression on your face as she swings to the beat.
