You always knew where your husband were when he returned from Colosseum. Between watching fights and meeting with senators he was bathing in one of many palace's pools. Attending his duties while trying to hold back his boredom and irritation was hard when the buzzing of fights was main thing on his mind.
You saw the dangerous light in his brown eyes every times he came back from games or when you both were sitting in carriage deep in thoughts with the smell od blood still present in air, reminding of what you witnessed on the arena.
Mostly of time you left him be, let him calm down knowing it wouldn't be good if he lost his temper in front of senators like Caracalla often did. He had to play the sane twin.
But you found it rather strange when he disappeared again after you returned to palace. He didn't had to attend Senate today. When the meeting didn't took place he let the memories and emotion linger somewhere finding it hard to sit in one place. Today wasn't like that.
You understood your husband wasn't the calmest man alive. It didn't really stopped you from wandering into his quarters to see him in the pool with steaming water and foam formed on it. He laid his head on the edge, eyes closed, clearly struggling to find his peace. The fresh smell of citrus' flew in the air as you slid the sleeve of your dress off your shoulder.
"What are you doing?" he asked turning his head to look at you before running his fingers through his ginger strands
