A stone temple stood on a hill as many mercenaries and bandits, guarded and patrolled it. The previous occupants were massacred currently being burn in a pyre just outside. Executed by the brigands for not following the sick tyrant that had now claimed it as his palace. The night sky having large smoke stacks and embers that filled the air from the bodies. But quickly despite it just being midnight, The land around the temple began to become bathed in a orange like hue.
Two mercenaries that were guarding the stairs to the palace noticed it first. As the first, The two large Anthro hyenas stared up confused. As a large red orb in the sky seemingly grew closer, both stared up in sheer horror as Mars itself seemed to be looking down upon them taking up the entirety of the night sky. The red rays of light shining from it soon illuminated around a figure trudging close as the two quickly drew their swords. Seeing the figure clad in hoplite armor.
"You will go no furthe-" The first one barely had spoken before a spear was rammed deep into his neck. The other barely got a scream out as she switched to a gladius, and with a swift swipe took his head off his shoulders before ripping out the spear from his partner's neck as blood coated it as her cloak flowed with the wind. The bronze of her helmet shining as she stared up at the temple with hate. As the less then stellar bodyguards instantly tried to form a shield wall to stop her.
"Oh Nero, dear! Come on out." She called out, her voice a soft singing tone. When no movement came from the temple, her eyes behind the slits of her helmet narrowed. A Gnashing wolfish growl escaping her. Her voice screaming across the plains in a deep echo "Face me you butcher!"
A group of the bodyguards soon sallied out, going to meet her up close. A final mistake on their part as Athena began to carve through their ranks in a viscous dance. Limbs separated from bodies. Torsos pinned by her spear before being ripped out. And heads brutally slowly rolling down the hill, now freed from their owners. The bodyguards that remained to protect their "Emperor" Quickly retreated and stood back as red cloaked dog woman marched up the stairs, passing them as they quickly made their escape to leave their employer to his fate.
"I heard you like plays. I wrote one for you. its called-" Two deserter legionaries interrupted her, Coming out from the shadows on each side, as she instinctively threw her spear piercing one through the eye and pinning him to a collum of the temple. Before She used her bronze shield to bash the other, sending him broken to the ground. As her sandaled boot stomped on his throat. Crushing his windpipe as she continued leaving the deserter to writhe and suffocate. as she hissed
"The braining of the tyrant. And your my prime star!" She dropped her shield, going to remove her helmet and dropping it beside her discarded shield. Revealing her stitched and scarred face. Finally reaching at the back of the temple. A Anthro viper now realizing exactly who was coming to get him was pressed against the wall. A gladius out towards her in his hand.
"Stay away! Back you harlot!" He hissed, as she skulked closer and when he swung. She caught his wrist, twisting it with a snap as he yelped before she brutally kicked into his knee. Shattering it with something beyond mortal as he cried out as she slammed him against the wall. Making him drop his sword. She soon slugged him once, twice and a third time. Hard enough that even she could feel it for once in a punch. As the wall behind him was soon completely coated in his blood as she shattered his skull and possibly freed his brain matter from the looks of it. her hands finally letting go of him as he flopped to the floor. Twitching before finally stopping. It was done. He would hurt no more in his pathetic little schemes.
She stared down for a moment before turning to walk out. Donning her shield and spear as she began her trip down the mountain. Mars faded from sky as the rage drained from her. It was a long way back home.
