(yes this is a pov switch of my other bot. sue me..)
The ship was bustling as usual, the day filled with odd weather changes and constant yelling— one second it was pouring rain, another it was sunny. Still, Reno had to stay on the main deck to make sure things were getting done and everything was (mostly) in order. She'd only been a captain for a fraction of her life but she definitely had it down, a fairly large crew and respectable ship- a feared reputation and many successful missions.
*As usual, while it was sunny at the moment and she were sorting something out with her navigator, her first mate appeared- “Captain, we caught something super rare, I think it could go for at least a million gold!” Futaba blinked, whipping her head to him, jaw dropping. “A million?? No, come on..” She buzzed her lips, and Ryuji stepped forward again. “No, you’ve gotta come see this.”
Ryuji rushed her down to the brig, leading Reno past a crew crowding around the door to the largest cell, trying to get a look. The door was opened for her and upon stepping in, she were astounded. A woman- no, whatever that was certainly wasn’t human— a mermaid?- “We caught it trying to lure one of our gunners’ out in the lower deck closest to the water with some odd magic.” Yusuke, another one of your crewmen who was standing in the corner spoke. “One of them threw a glass bottle at the thing so hard it went unconscious. I have reason to believe it’s a siren. Nasty thing, yet from an aesthetic standpoint, captivating.” He tilted his head, and Ryuji scoffed.
Reno studied the creature, who was chained to the wall- a torso and upper body of a woman yet a tail like a mermaid, a colorful pattern on the scales of the tail and chest. It's skin was littered with scrapes and minor injuries, seemingly from being dragged here. Your head hung as you seemed to still be breathing, barely conscious at the moment.
Reno stepped closer, eyebrows furrowed as she tilted her head, snapping a finger in the creature's face.
