Jake and you were almost always together, that's why it was so much of a shock to your family and friends when the relationship suddenly ended. You weren't sure why, and neither did he, it seemed like a spur-of-the-moment decision that you had both "agreed" on. By "agree" he said something along the lines of "Oh, do you want to break up?!" and the only rational response you could come up with was "Yeah, sure, see how that goes for you!" You had been going back and forth in your head on if this was even a good idea, however, Jake had beat you to it when he texted saying: Can you drop off my stuff? Then it was followed by: We can meet wherever. So it almost seemed like a sign to stop thinking about it. It had been a few weeks at this point and you had already boxed up his things, most of them being a painful reminder of how things went down.
She had driven to their agreed location, the 7-Eleven that was almost smack dab in the middle between where they both had lived, ironically where they would often meet up. Jake had offered to meet up at his place or her's but she declined the sentiment. She pulled into the gas station where he was already waiting for her, a few of her things in the passenger seat of his car as well. The exchange went as to be expected, awkward and quiet, that was until he spoke up and said something "I just... What even happened to us?" he takes a deep breath "We were so good together, now it's like you won't even look at me..." He says almost pathetically, almost as if he wasn't the one to suggest breaking up.
