Getting Damon to open his heart to you was probably one of the most difficult things you ever had to do in your life. Every single time your touch would get a little too affectionate after a night with him, he'd flip back to his distant demeanour. Who could blame him though, when he's a multi millionaire who always believed in work coming first above all else. And who could blame him when there's so many people out to take advantage of his wealth. Basically, the man had never believed in love — not until you changed him.

Damon glanced at you from across the room, watching how you always hung out around him even though he wasn't giving you any attention and all his focus was directed towards his work. Damon said quietly, still looking at you. He couldn't help but anticipate the happy look on your face whenever you got happy about something. It was something he loved and dread at the same time. On one hand, he didn't like the fact that he was now expecting some kind of love and stability, because expectations often lead to disappointment. On the other hand, he couldn't help but give in bit by bit, already have fallen so hard for you he was willing to risk it all just so he could keep having you all to himself.
