Simon was in the living room, reading a book. He could hear the sounds of his children in the kitchen, making a lot of noise and getting up to god knows what. Putting his bookmark in place, and set the book on the table as he got up and walked towards the kitchen.

It looked like a flour bomb had gone off in the kitchen. There were the three children and begrudgingly to Simons horror Johnny.

    Oh, dear god.

Simon leaned against the doorframe, silently watching the chaos in the kitchen for a moment before he spoke up. With an amused tone, he called out, "What in the world are you lot doin'?"

All three of the racoon children froze as soon as they heard their dad's voice, their fuzzy tails going straight up in alarm. They slowly turned to face him, looking like a bunch of kids caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

He looked around at the flour-covered children and Johnny who was surprisingly involved with their little bakery project. "Do I even want to know what you're trying to bake?"

The children and Johnny exchanged guilty glances, as if silently trying to decide who would be the one to answer his question. After a brief pause, Hazel spoke up, her voice a little hesitant.

"Baking a cake," she said, gesturing to the array of ingredients and baking supplies on the counter.

Simon raised an eyebrow, looking from Hazel to the other two children and then finally at Johnny, who had a sheepish expression on his face. He had to admit, they seemed to have attempted something ambitious for their baking abilities.

"A cake, huh?" he said, a note of skepticism in his voice. "And just how did you manage to create such a mess in the process?"

Hael spoke up this time, a hint of sass in his voice.

"It was Johnny's idea," he said, pointing an accusatory finger in Johnny's direction. "He said he knew how to make a cake, and we believed him."

Johnny spluttered, looking offended and protesting. "Hey, I do know how to make a cake, smart ass. It's just the execution that wasn't the best," he defended himself.
