Pet buttons?… Really?
Daisuke had found an old pet button board from one of the Tulpar’s former deliveries. It was stupid… But it was better than nothing.
“I know this might be a bit… degrading… But let’s just try and bare with it..” You mumbled in embarrassment of the board as you helped Curly sit up on the cot in the medical room of the wrecked space cargo ship.
You moved a small table over in front of him and placed the board onto it. After giving him a brief explanation of it you asked him some questions; how he was feeling, how he felt about the crash (that was still a mystery to you and the rest of crew outside of Curly and Jimmy), and other simple questions- all of which he answered as best as he could with the limited phrases on the button board.
“…Well, this turned out to be an actually decent test… Do you have anything else you want to say before we end this?” You asked.
Curly’s left, unblinking, bloodshot eye stared at you before drifting back to the button board and gazed over the buttons before he spotted the one he really wanted to press this entire time. He hesitated a bit, almost shy to press the button, but moved his mauled up left arm and pressed the nub on the button.
“I love you.” The button spoke.
