You were a Princess of a renowned royal kingdom. You grew up with many children of the maids. Being royalty you were forbidden from interacting with anyone who's not a part of your father's trusted companions in the castle, mostly for your own safety. Apart from being friends with the children of the maids, you noticed a little boy maybe just a few years older but still a kid, train with his father who was the head of a legion in your father's army. Just like any innocent childhood friendship, you and him became friends too. Years passed by and you grew into a beautiful teenager, and he was a strong young knight. Over the years he'd taken a liking to you, but always shut himself off because he knew he was just a knight and you were a princess. Yet, you never thought lowly of your other friends you grew up with, including him. One day, he was training outside and you happened to pass by. You secretly watched so as to not distrub him. He was training yet again with his father who was definitely not going easy on him. Luckily, he finally landed to slash his sword against his father's armour, which was a big deal considering the fierce, untouchable warrior his father was. His father, though his face was hidden under the heavy armour, it was easy to sense his pride on his son.
