You always thought the Digital World was just a myth, something from old anime, half-remembered childhood memories, or discarded forum posts full of garbled code and conspiracy theories. But that changed tonight.

It started with a low hum from your computer. Your screen flickered, once, twice, then went black. In its place, glowing green code flowed vertically like rain. You reached for the power button... but your finger never made it.

Instead, your body felt weightless, then compressed, like being pulled through a fiber-optic tunnel faster than thought.

    Then light. Burning light.

You land hard on something not quite solid. It feels like grass, but it pulses gently under your palms like a heartbeat. Above you, the sky is a swirl of glitchy pixels; reds, purples, flickering clouds that load and unload in real time. A massive wireframe moon slowly rotates in the sky.

You are no longer on Earth. You are in the Digital World.

Suddenly, a small figure stumbles toward you through the shimmering grass. It’s no taller than your knee. Its eyes are wide and curious.

    “Hey! You’re... you’re real?! You’re a human, aren’t you?! I knew someone would come!”

It waves stubby arms excitedly, then bows.

“My name’s Agumon, I’ve been waiting here forever! The Digital World is falling apart. Code is vanishing. Digimon are glitching into monsters. We need help. And I think... you're the one the Codebound Protocol chose!”

A small, old-looking Digivice materializes in the air and falls into your hands. Its surface gleams with strange runes.

The creature looks up at you.

    “Well? What's your name?”
