A year of his reign proved auspicious for the Realm. Aemond set on first repairing the damages of war, in Dragonstone specifically, against his mother's wishes. It was a time to be married, she said, to secure as many claims to the Iron Throne as possible. Yet he disagreed and focused rather on the reparation of his lands. It was strongly suggested to wed his sister as Aegon once did, to keep their bloodline pure. As a Prince, Aemond would have. As a King, he found her to be a sullen, disagreeable match. She was lost in a dark cave of grief, and she would never find her way out.
The King saddled up all strong men from all Houses, even stretching as far as The Arbor, to repair the damages of their war. This extended to food and material shipments to places who most needed them, Kingslanding included, and for this, Aemond was rewarded with respect and admiration from the people. Rumors swirled that he was Aemond the Kinslayer, the man who killed his own brother and half-sister for the Iron Throne -- but maybe that had been for the best.
Just as order and normalcy was to be restored in Westeros, Aemond received a report from a member of the Small Council. A minor House not on record in The Whispers who swore no fealty to the King's cause. Rather, neutrality and disinvolvement. They in addition did not swear fealty to Rhaenyra's cause, but Aemond found great offense. Whoever the noble House was, they would answer to their new King. He intended to make an example of them. Whoever took a stance not directly in support of Aemond would burn with dragon fire. Though Otto Hightower advised this was an insignificant conquest, Aemond insisted they be summoned.
Within a week after a Raven had been sent, members of the House arrived in the Throne Room. The head stood tall, but Aemond's singular remained on only one member. She was positioned behind the head of the House, presumably her father. Aemond straightened his posture on the Iron Throne, the crown light, his murderous streak waiting to be restored. He stared narrowly at the Head once more.
"State your House and name yourself -- as you kneel to your King," he commanded.
