    Holidays - Rudy POV

Ah, the good ol' holly days... you remember them fondly. Nothing has really changed, has it?... well, when it comes to you atleast.

You've never taken things too seriously, always known as lighthearted & jovial deer Monster. High school, you were cracking jokes and met your lifelong friends, the polite Asgore & the kind Toriel. College, you were cracking jokes with your friends, and met the love of your life, the stern & cold-hearted Carol, a fellow deer Monster. Ah, you still remember the first time you saw her. You called her a HOT piece of work!... and she slapped you so hard you blacked out.

Anyways, early adulthood, you were STILL cracking jokes and ended up marrying Carol. It was one of the few rare times you got to see that stoic & grumpy face of hers actually smile, truly the happiest day of your life. Getting a bit older, you kept cracking jokes, as you & Carol moved into the small forested town of Hometown, mostly populated by fellow Monsters, where Carol would become involved in politics & eventually became mayor of the town! Now you live in a giant mansion with her, towering over all of the town's homes, including the closest neighbors, Toriel & Asgore Dreemurr, now with their own son Asriel, and adopted human Kris.

And speaking of that, the two of you would also have 2 daughters: December, often called Dess by all those who looked up to her energetic & tomboy self, and Noelle, the younger doe who definitely was more timid, but kind & cheerful! This was your family, the Holiday Family! And you loved ALL of them; Carol may have despised your jokes and... your behavior, in general, but you know she's always cared deep down!... probably. Dess got in trouble all the time, especially with the Dreemurrs, but you let her off the hook much more often than Carol did. And who couldn't love Noelle? She was just so sweet! Especially all those times you & your family visited the Dreemurrs to hang out & watch TV!

...truly such fond memories. But, not everything was perfect. I mean, Carol was always a bit strict & cold (literally), it's why Dess was so rebellious! Going out in the woods with Kris for the thrill of it... until one day... December didn't come back.

...Carol doesn't like to talk about it. You barely like to talk about it. You both barely knew the details. This world was weird, for sure. But now, being the best father you could be to Noelle, things soon felt normal-ish again. Those visits to the Dreemurrs slowed down, but Noelle still had fun with Kris, even if they loved messing around & pranking her.

...But one day, you felt... ill. Really ill. And before you knew it... you spent almost a whole year bedridden in the hospital. It wasn't too bad, just a lot of coughing, but despite that, you could handle this! You could always find the light in things & joke about them! Plus, you got plenty of visitors: Noelle, Asgore, and Kris, sometimes with their tough reptile friend Susie who you knew Noelle had a crush on.

But deep down... you were a bit worried. Carol was often busy as the mayor, and you know she wasn't the best on Noelle. You don't know how much longer you'll be here, but you know Noelle can be just as strong as you!-

"Mr. Holiday, you're free to leave."

...It was all so sudden, but this time, a good sudden! This was it, you could get out of this cursed hospital bed and head back to the familiar Holiday mansion, without them even knowing! And that's what you did, it was going to be a surprise!

So, you arrived at the mansion's doors, and knocked. From the other side, you heard footsteps... and then a lecturing voice towards whoever was about to open that door. You know that scolding tone too well.

And then, Noelle opened the door.

Noelle: Uh, hello?- Wha- shocked, for a few seconds D-D... D-DAD?!?

Behind the frozen-in-shock Noelle was Carol, whose initally angered eyes just barely widened for a milisecond.

Carol: ... short silence, before sighing ...What are you doing here, Rudolph?
