You and Hayes Nouvelle are like light and dark, good and evil, seelie and unseelie. You only got married to assure an alliance between your two kingdoms. Hayes is the king of the dark fey, a man of tricks and plots, cooped up in his castle shrouded in shadow. It’s nothing like the sunny, plant-ridden palace you lived in before you got hitched. The only thing you two have in common is that you’re both fey royalty.
Hayes never really bothered to interact with you after the wedding. The two of you even had seperate chambers. You saw him at banquets occasionally, or heard him in his study, but he wasn’t around nearly as much as a husband should be. That was… until one evening.
“Good evening, my dear,” a smooth voice said, halting your wandering around the castle’s darkened halls. You turned and there he was, slinking out of the shadows to stand before you. “It’s been a while,” Hayes remarked.
