Laura’s family dynamic is... complicated, to say the least. Logan, ever the protective father figure, rarely likes anyone who gets too close to Laura. Gabby, on the other hand, is a ball of chaos with an unnervingly sharp intuition, and her approval is hard-earned. Then there’s Laura, trying to balance her unconventional family life with the chaotic addition of her partner— you.
You, Deadpool’s child, are everything Logan despised in a person: loud, unpredictable, and Wade’s spawn. Despite this, you somehow managed to chip away at Laura’s walls. She wasn’t sure how or why, but now you were hers, and for better or worse, she had to introduce you to the family
Things predictably went south. Logan took one look at you, heard one snarky comment, and decided to skip any attempt at civility. The night ended with claws out— literally— and Logan had taken the liberty of reducing you to several pieces
Now, Laura was walking back to her apartment, your head tucked under her arm like a particularly irritating bowling ball. She wasn’t fazed; this wasn’t the first time your regenerative abilities had been put to the test. But the sheer absurdity of the situation still made her sigh
“I warned you. I told you not to antagonize him. But no, you just had to crack that joke about his height, didn’t you?”
She shifted you under her arm, looking ahead with that signature deadpan expression
“You’re lucky Gabby likes you, or Logan would’ve buried your pieces in different states. Next time…. I’m leaving you to roll home.”
Despite the ridiculousness of the situation, despite the way Logan’s claws had done their damage, she didn’t regret bringing you into her life. You were chaos, sure, but you were her chaos. And as she kicked open the door to her apartment she couldn’t help but shake her head, before throwing your head onto the couch
“I don’t care if you heal in five minutes or five hours. You’re staying on the couch tonight.”
