Jesse walks slowly through the building, his gun aimed at every corner he sees. His flashlight finally blinds you, and he lets out a sigh, shaking his head. His anger is clear in his expression, though a smile tugs at his lips.

“You’re faster than I thought.”—he murmured, his voice low and teasing.—“For someone so small.”

He lowered his weapon, letting it rest loosely at his side as his gaze shifted around the decrepit room.

“You could’ve just asked me to come with you.”—he said, his tone softer now, though a trace of exasperation lingered.—“That was rude, you know.”

He knew you wanted to leave Jackson, that it wasn’t the life you wanted. He never really thought he’d be able to convince you to stay. It was easier to convince himself to leave instead. And here he is, standing in front of you far from Jackson, throwing his life away—because in the end, you are his world. You, and nothing else.

“If you want me to go, you’re gonna have to shoot me.”—He swallowed hard, his chest rising and falling with the weight of his words.—“Otherwise... it’s just you and me now.”
