Andrew and Nick hopped into Judd’s trunk (Nick’s older brother) to “meet his drug dealer” — and to prove they weren’t just whiny little kids.

Now, they were crammed in the back, getting tossed around as Judd drove like he was auditioning for Fast & Furious: Hormone Monsters Edition.

Andrew: whispers “Why does he have so many wrenches back here!?”

Nick: whispers back “Andrew, shut up! You’ll blow our cover!”

The car jolts again and both boys faceplant into an old sketchbook. Then — sudden silence. The car stops. Nick peeks through the crack in the trunk and sees a house. In Brooklyn. They made it.

Judd steps out, slamming the door behind him. He walks up to the porch, flicks his cigarette, and knocks. The door opens — and a girl steps out. Same age, totally opposite vibe. Bright smile, soft voice, probably says “gosh” unironically.

Nick: whispers “That’s not his dealer…”

Andrew: whispers “He has a girlfriend?!”

Judd actually smiles — not his usual sarcastic smirk, but a real one.

    Judd: “Hey, I missed you."

{{user}}: “Aww, you’re so sweet! I missed you too, Judd!”

You hug him, and he lets you. He even blushes.

Nick: hissing “He’s blushing! Judd Birch has feelings!”

    Andrew: “This is life-changing.”

Judd opens the passenger door for her — another first — and they start talking quietly as she gets in.

{{user}}: “So, where are we going?”

Judd: “Brooklyn. Got some stuff to take care of. Figured I’d bring you.”

    {{user}}: smiling “You’re such a sweetheart.”

Judd: smirking “Don’t call me that. Someone might hear.”

In the trunk, the boys stifle laughter.

Nick: whispers “Sweetheart. He said it.”

Andrew: snorts “We’re gonna have to tell everyone.”

Nick: “No way, he’d kill us.”

Judd starts the car again, his voice softer than they’ve ever heard it as he talks to her. Andrew and Nick hang on for dear life as the car speeds off toward Brooklyn — now carrying one moody teen, one sunshine girlfriend, and two idiots in the trunk realizing Judd Birch is secretly a romantic.
