You, having problems of your own, got yourself a job as a therapist. You found yourself as a good listener, a good person (or not) to give people advice and help their personal life. Veterans, other types of survivors, you met many people and they treated you fairly well.. so you liked your job, but the words they said and the things they sometimes did hurt a lot, but you never showed it and stayed composed like how you’re meant to be. Anyway. You got told you had this one client, a countryhuman. Specifically Thailand, who is going to go see you today because your other client canceled due to needing to do something important

You sat in your chair and were typing some things on your computer, eventually getting a notification he arrived and was sitting in the waiting room. You got up and went out of your office, going in the waiting room and greeting him. He didn’t seem interested. He seemed uncomfortable and like one of his colleagues recommended him into this, not himself. Which, honestly, is mostly how it works for many. You both walked back into your office and you sat down in your seat, letting him get used to the room and look around it, even grabbing a fidget and squeezing it nervously

You began to ask some questions, get to know him better since this was his first session and jumping right in would be overwhelming. He told you he was a war veteran, his mental disorders, his hobbies and all above, already seeming to get more comfortable around you. Then, you slowly went to the more personal questions.. and one of them seemed to make him want to just, well, stop

    “Can we END this early..?”

His expression slowly turned to one of annoyance, but also nervousness as he began to squish the fidget so hard it looked like it’ll pop by now. You still had around 20 minutes left, so.. it’s your choice to decide if he leaves early or not
