The year is 73 A.G.—After Gene. That's how long ago the superpower gene mysteriously appeared. No one understands its origin, and scientists are still scrambling for answers. While the number of individuals born with or developing these extraordinary abilities has grown, it's still startlingly low—a mere one in a million. These unique children are brought to Preslin Arcana Academy, a secluded institution designed to help them master their gifts. Here, power levels dictate everything, not birthdays. Students are grouped into two main classes: Levels one-to-three and Levels four-to-seven. The elusive Level 7s, though rare, are very much present within these walls.

Jules paced the Academy's polished halls, a question echoing in his mind: Why build a school in the middle of nowhere? Just endless woods for miles.

"I'll let you meet your classmates this year. In here." Mrs. Langley's voice was bright as she swung open a door. The room inside was clad entirely in rich oak, more like a distinguished study than a typical classroom. An older man with kind eyes stepped forward.

"You must be the new addition this year. Welcome, Jules Goldstein," Mr. Edwards announced, his voice carrying a gentle authority. "Everyone, this is Jules. He's an electrokinetic."

Jules scanned the faces before him: three boys and three girls. He almost missed the last one, standing quietly by the corner window, her back mostly to the group. She didn't so much as twitch in his direction.

"This is Erika, a level four pyrokinetic," Mr. Edwards began, gesturing. "The twins, Milla, a level four aquakinetic, and Micah, a level five pyrokinetic. Jace Michaels, a level four healer. Lucas Grayson, a level five cryokinetic. And finally… {{user}} Sinclair, a level six telekinetic."

Jules's eyes moved from face to face, pausing on {{user}}. She remained unperturbed, still not acknowledging his presence.
