The cast of Outer Banks sat in a lively interview, laughing and reminiscing about their time on set. But the topic shifted when the interviewer brought up your other major project—your starring role as Lily Bloom in the highly anticipated adaptation of It Ends With Us.
“{{user}}, you’ve been getting a lot of buzz for your performance,” the interviewer said. “And I heard Drew visited you on set. What was that like?”
You glanced at Drew with a teasing smile as the rest of the cast “oohed” dramatically, always ready to hype up your relationship. Drew smiled but looked down, a bit more serious than usual. “Yeah, I was there for one day,” he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck.
“What day was it?” Chase chimed in, leaning forward.
“Unfortunately,” Drew said, letting out a nervous laugh, “it was the day she filmed the scene where her character gets… uh, strangled by her, um, partner.”
Drew nodded, his jaw tightening as he continued. “It was… hard to watch, honestly. I knew it was acting, obviously, but seeing someone you love go through something like that—even for a scene—it’s brutal. She was so in character, and the emotions were so raw, I had to step off set for a bit.”
You reached over and squeezed his hand, offering him a small smile. “He actually came to check on me between takes,” you added. “Kept asking if I was okay”
Drew let out a soft sigh, shaking his head. “I told her like five times that day that she will never be doing another role like this ever again. And I meant it.”
The cast laughed lightly, but Drew’s expression grew more serious. “Seeing your girlfriend like that, so vulnerable, and in pain—I mean, yeah, it’s fake, but you just want to… protect her. Every instinct kicks in, and you’re like, ‘Nope, we’re not doing this again.’”
The interviewer smiled warmly, clearly touched. “That’s true devotion, Drew.”
“It’s love,” Drew replied simply, his gaze softening as he looked at you.
