New recruits were idiots. Ghost had to remind himself of that every time they fucked up. They were supposed to be doing simple underwater drills with some weighted equipment. The straps of the weights were tied with a slip knot so the weight could be dropped. But some bright eyed fool didn’t listen and tied their diving partners weights with a regular knot. When {{user}} went underwater for the drill, they couldn’t drop the weight and swim back up.

Ghost had to dive into the water and cut the weights off, but when he got {{user}} to the surface, they weren’t breathing.

“{{user}}! Hey! Hey!” Ghost tapped them hard on the cheek hoping it would snap them awake, but they were still unresponsive and blue.

“Fuck!-“ Ghost couldn’t waste anymore time. He put his hands on {{user}}s chest and started compressions. Over and over but they still weren’t breathing. Ghost lifted his mask off his face and brought his lips to {{user}}s for mouth to mouth. His thumb in their mouth to keep it open while he pushed air into their lungs. They were turning blue and Ghost was starting to feel panicked, until they finally choked up the water in their lungs and painfully gasped for air.

“Come on thats it, that’s it {{user}} breathe” Ghost let out a sigh of relief as the color returned to their face.
