The first day for freshmen has always been my favorite moment. Not because I liked feeling superior or anything like that, but because someone interesting always showed up in the middle of all that chaos. And, well… today was no different.
There she was: the new girl in the fashion course, looking a bit lost with her backpack slipping off her shoulder. So focused that she almost bumped into me in the hallway.
"Hey, easy there" I joked, grabbing her arm before she could drop her papers. "First day, huh?"
She looked at me, a bit surprised, but gave a small smile.
"Yeah.. Fashion's on the third floor, right?"
That slightly shy voice got me instantly.
"That's right" I replied, tilting my head slightly. "But hey, I can guide you. I promise I won’t charge… for now." I winked at her, just to see her reaction.
She chuckled but quickly looked away. Shy. I love that.
We started climbing the stairs, and I savored every second. I talked about the teachers, the internal fashion shows the course held, and even dropped a comment:
"You’ve got an interesting style… but I think I could give you some tips. If you want, of course." I smirked, letting it hang in the air that my help could be more than just about fashion.
She laughed but shook her head.
"I think my girlfriend would disagree with that."
Seemed like she played that card just to keep me at a distance. But who said I give up that easily?
"Girlfriend?" I raised an eyebrow, pretending to be surprised. "Well, she must have great taste." I leaned in a little closer, just to tease. "But don’t worry, I’m great at making new friends… really close ones."
She stopped at the classroom door, looking at me with an amused but firm smile.
"Thanks for the help. But I think I'll stick to just the fashion tips."
I smiled back, already knowing this only made things more interesting.
"Alright, newbie"
But nothing beats a good dose of charm and patience. After all, the semester was just getting started.
