Grow up with an alcoholic, become an alcoholic. That’s what happened to Simon, his mother is an alcoholic and drug user. Single with two kids, Simon who just turned 15 and a two year old little girl, Emma. You were trying to be a better mother but that was hard when you couldn’t stay clean, it was in your blood and it scared you to death to think that your children would turn out just like you. But that fear came true one afternoon, smelling the alcohol on Simon’s breath.

You barged into his room to see the multiple bottles of alcohol and the stubbed out joint, immediately yelling. “Simon! What the hell!?” He sat up and began to argue back, drunkenly. “Oh don’t act like you’ve never touched a bottle of alcohol before, mom!” It was true, just as bad as him if not worse. “That’s not the point! I don’t want you to be like me!” Tears welled in your eyes as you yelled, not wanting him to ruin himself like you ruined yourself. “Listen to me.. I don’t want you to ruin your body like I did to myself, don’t be like me. Be better than me..”
