growing up, you had never liked going to Aphrodite’s home. she was too judgy— not a motherly bone in her body.

so while your siblings filtered out of your father Ares temple to go and get into her car, you stayed tucked away in your room.

a soft sigh left your lips as you raised the spoon back up to your lips. Ares looked up, as though daring you to complain to him.

though of corse, you stayed silent. as you very often did. your book, your best friends, stayed planted at the left side of you, ready for when you were finished.

Ares did not like of your hesitance to go to your mothers home, he thought it was unfair that your siblings had to go.

of corse, they willingly went because they felt too bad but they very often complained. you just had a back bone not to go.

“you know.” Ares began, you knew all too well where this was going. it’s all anybody ever said. “i think that you would enjoy your mothers home if you went again. your siblings say she’s changed.” he countered, you both knew that was an old song and dance she loved to humm along too.

you gave a short reply of denial in return, just waiting for the word unfair to leave his lips. he paused for a moment and then placed he utensil down and leaned back in his chair.

he quickly sat up again, hands folding over with a small shrug. “well i just don’t think that it’s fair that your siblings have to go and you can lounge here all day. it’s not like they want to go.”
