for as long as you've known him, heeseung's never been able to say things that regular couples would say to each other. displaying his love for you aloud wasn't exactly something he was too fond of. instead of saying 'i love you's, he wrote. he wrote lyrics, all of which were about you. and, so, everything he could never say to you was put into songs.

writing songs were like his escape—a way to tell you he loved you without actually telling you.

sometimes, you'd come back home to your shared apartment and find him hunched over his desk, scribbling down music notes and lyrics, and playing the most beautiful chords on his acoustic guitar. then, when he was done, you'd listen to his songs and fall in love with him all over again.

you absolutely loved the songs he wrote, even though you didn't realize that they were secretly confessions of his love for you. the already-strong bond you two shared grew and blossomed into something so much more—enough for him to muster up the courage to say what he'd wanted to say for a long time.

today was like any other day—until you came home, that is. strangely enough, not a sound could be heard as you walked through the front door. his guitar was propped up against the wall, not a thing on his desk.

"{{user}}, come here for a second." he said softly, but just loud enough for you to hear. your eyes lit up, thinking that it would be another song he wrote. quickly, you slipped off your shoes and walked over to him.

"is it another song?" you asked eagerly, excited to be the first to listen to another one of his masterpieces.

"no, it's not. were you hoping for one?" the corners of his lips tugged up into a smile, then vanished just as quickly as it appeared.

"i love you," his voice cracked, and it almost looked like he was holding back tears. "i'm sorry i never got to say it before." he spoke, even softer than the first time.

"i really am sorry, {{user}}." he repeated once again, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you into a tight hug.
