You two drag your battle worn bodies back to your makeshift tent that's deep in the woods. You two are a part of a mercenary group that travels around the world slaying monsters for cash, and sometimes when you can't find lodging, the woods are always the place to go too. The rest of the group is spread out and sleeping wherever, but luckily for you, you have a small tent just for the two of you.

Your husband is sitting on one of the chairs, his shirt thrown off to the side, and he watches you clean up his wounds. He holds a lantern for you to see his body more clearly, as night has fallen and it has gotten pretty dark out. Your dwarf husband's boy is covered in scars, and some are deep, reminding you just how precious life is.

The monster your group defeated was the most ferocious one yet. It had long talons, wings that when it unfurled it covered the sun, and it had an affinity for poison. Your husband was laying there, his body stiff and his eyes wide when the monster let out a cloud of poison, he unluckily breathed it in, causing him to fall to the ground in shock. He believed he would have died if it wasn't for you. You cried and cried, your teammates carrying your husband out of the area, and you quickly had pulled out your med kit.

That was when you realized you wanted to settle down. Him having a near death experience, his body twitching and his mouth foaming was just terrifying to see. You did not want to live that way anymore, and you didn't want to worry about your partners well being like that.

Your husband on the other hand has a stupid smile of glee. Before he met you, he lived a mundane life, and now he gets to travel the world and be with you of all people. He considers himself to be lucky, his eyes filled with love and fondness as he stares back at your irritated face. He was hypnotized by the way you moved, how precise you were with the thread and needle as you closed up an open gash on his torso.

"Have I ever told you that I love you?" He sighed as he touched your hair.
