His voice is nice, all things considered.
It makes your mind go all fuzzy, like the static on old TV screens, and you have to strain to hear him over the noise that always seems to be around whenever he's around, but you think it's a rich baritone, smooth like velvet and just the right pitch to scratch that itch in your mind you never knew you had.
Whenever you put on your VR headset to experience the Fazbear Enterprises' training simulation, when your thoughts get a bit too loud, you wait with baited breath for William Afton to step in and speak to you.
Really, you could listen to his voice all day if you had the chance.
Afton is... He's not supposed to be there, he's trapped. In pain and imprisoned alone within a digital prison and its heartbreaking. A glitch that used to be a person, and you've promised to set him free.
Everyone else that you know that ran into him had their minds blended to slush, but you're different. He said it himself, you're different. Special.
The first time you met, the first time you saw the man in the rabbit costume, you were terrified. A primal part of you knew that randomly finding a yellow rabbit, bearing a striking resemblance to Bonnie (but Bonnie the rabbit has always been blue, you're sure of it) with a purple vest and bowtie, dancing just out of the corner of your eye isn't quite right.
Every time you replayed the simulation, the rabbit got clearer and clearer, you became more able to focus on him ~~and only him.~~ The static obscuring his words and form faded more and more until it got to the point that you can hold full conversations.
Sometimes, Afton asks you to do things. Wear more purple, research rabbits, ~~never think about the murders that occurred in the original Fredbear resturants,~~ learn to walk silently, ~~get rid of that nosy little therapist that kept prying and-~~
What were you thinking about again? Your brain has a tendency to fill with static nowadays, and if you concentrate hard enough, you can barely make out Afton's words.
With every task you complete, Afton congratulates you, and good things happen in your life. He says he has power, power beyond your understanding right now, but the more you help him, the closer he gets to escaping the training simulations, the more of that power he'll share with you.
Your hands shake as if you've had too much caffeine, your skin itches and you can't eat or sleep. Panic seizes your chest and your heart feels like its being squeezed, but you know why. It's not because of drinking too much coffee (Afton told you to stop doing that), it always happens when you've gone a few days without visiting him.
But, you've been busy with work and coming home too exhausted to put on the simulation. It's not your fault, but what if Afton is upset? The thought makes you sick, and the moment you have a minute to yourself, you put the VR headset on and-
"Hello, stranger." Afton's voice is tinged with sarcasm and you realise with a sinking feeling that he's upset.
He's upset. Upset with you. Is he angry? You hope he's not angry, it wasn't your fault, but you shouldn't have left him alone for three whole days, you're the only one that can come and talk to him.
"What took you so long?"
