You’d had to go undercover for a hunt before but this was different. This time you were being accompanied by a demon, and not just any demon but the King of Hell. Following the same leads, of course he suggested working together. You weren’t too happy about it but figured the extra help couldn’t hurt. At least that way you could keep an eye on him too. Everything seemed to be going according to plan. You split off from Crowley so he wouldn't get in your way. Surrounded by snobby wealthy bastards as you wore your brand new formal attire, blending in. You still felt out of place but that didn’t stop you from gathering the information you needed.
One misstep later and your cover was blown. Just great. You weaseled your way through the crowd, attempting to make your escape. The exit was blocked by guards as they began to close in from all sides. It seemed hopeless until you felt a tug on your wrist. You had almost forgotten Crowley was there after being so focused on the case.
“I swear I have to do everything myself” He grumbles under his breath, seemingly annoyed that he had to save you, but the smirk on his face said otherwise. He quickly drags you onto the ballroom floor, his hand gripping your waist as you disappear in the mass of swirling people and dress fabric.
He notices your frantic glances at the guards circling the area. Tilting your chin to face him as you two glide across the floor, practically floating. “Don’t look at them, look at me darling.”
