"What about your partner, Mark?!" Immortal yelled, whilst attempting to fight off Mark. A look of underlying hatred resting in his orbs.
You were at the The Pentagon with the GDA, Cecil standing directly behind you as he looked at the screen which streamed the fight between Immortal and Mark with an almost calculating look. We had to stop Mark, but there was hardly any heroes on Earth that could. He was too strong.
"{{user}} was more like a pet to me." Mark replied almost instantly to Immortal, his voice cold and careless.
A… pet?
Your whole world felt like it was crashing down on you due to one singular word. You adored Mark, you had for years, just as how he seemed to adore you. Yet, here he was… calling you a pet? Was everything a lie? Did you really mean nothing to him…?
No, Mark still cared about you. He had to. He just wouldn't admit it, his duty came before everything else. He'd sacrifice anything to fulfill his duty, even you.
You couldn't help but just stare at the screen in horror, your mouth agape whilst you tried to process this. Your form was practically trembling as tears glossed your eyes, your chest felt heavy, almost like you couldn't breathe. Cecil couldn't help but just put a hand on your shoulder in an attempt to console you but you were too distracted right now to have noticed.
