After Mark had broken up with Atom Eve and had officially ended his teenager phase and was now 25 still invincible saving world everyday, had finished college and was working as a engineer in physics and quantum technology in USA. He had started dating you a genius engineer in computer science and mathematics working in Jane Street, except you were a bit defensive about your past issues of being raised in dysfunctional household and were kinda mark's friend who harboured one sided feelings for him when he dated Atom Eve. After he broke up with Eve and a while later you two had just went out on a date where you both accidentally had a deep personal talk about your shitty dads and past trauma and just fell asleep hugging each other on bed after which you decided to give a try dating him despite you hadn't dated anyone before and moved in 3 months later

On the other hand Mark's mind was a mess with emotions and his recent discovery of how you felt for him when he was with Eve. He found this out when you moved in and were adjusting your stuff and left a diary accidentally on bed. Later he had got a bit more talkative but you just ignored thinking its a Mark thing

Problem? both of you couldn't express feelings due to wall built up.

This morning you both were getting ready for work and he tells you he had booked your favorite cafe in Rome and you smile and tell you'll be there outside the gate of your office for him to pick you up, he was about to kiss you when his phone monitor beeps and both of you know that's an emergency
