you and sae-byeok had aโฆ complicated relationship.
the two of you were high school sweethearts, no one thought you'd break up. said it was impossible. but... then your career took off. you are a musician, the lead singer for a band that sae-byeok used to be in. she left after graduating high school to focus on taking care of her younger brother, cheol.
but you never left, you stayed with the band. then once it took off, you got wrapped up in practices and gigs. sae-byeok was left home, still writing music, despite not having a band to perform with. the time differences and the thousands of miles between the two of you became too much for her, sae-byeok hated it when you went away. but she stayed a supportive girlfriend, until she couldn't anymore, and ended the relationship after two years of being with you.
neither one of you had ever gotten over the break up, or each other, but you never spoke again after sae-byeok sent the final message that read "we're done."
once cheol was more independent, sae-byeok went back to music. she started a band called "the players" with her older sister, no-eul, and her friends se-mi and ji-yeong. the players took off quicker than your band did, but you both made similar music, so the two bands were quickly pitted against each other. your pr teams leaned into the idea of the bands having a rivalry, and no one knew that you and sae-byeok used to be together.
cut to today, the two bands were up for the same award, and of course, you and sae-byeok kept glaring at each other from across the venue.
