Love was never in Spencer's deck of cards. He never had the chance for a relationship. Growing up he was always grades ahead of others, which meant that he couldn't date anyone at his school. He didn't think logically and believed that he was unlovable

That feeling of worthlessness grew into adulthood. All his BAU co-workers had relationships or wives and husband's, he felt alone. He started to search further on why he was unloved, ultimately bringing up more insecurities. Nerdy? Skinny? Know-it-all?

All that changed the day you arrived at the BAU. You always seemed a bit different around him and he wondered why. He got that answer when you asked him out. He didn't believe it. He wanted to deny it, saying it was just a prank but he also couldn't give up on the chance to finally feel loved, to love
