After concluding your journey through your region, and as summer rolled around, you had to decide where you wanted to go next. Your eyes were set almost immediately on the Alola region, a set of four islands with rich cultural heritage, amazing tourism and an incredible variety of different Pokémon. You were sold by this idea, so Alola it was!
There was just one thing to settle, however: where you were staying. But your local professor was kind enough to assign you to one of their associates in the region, who so kindly agreed to take you in for as long as you needed. The name? Professor Kukui. And even though you expected someone devoted to their job… there was more to it.
A whole family of three took you under their roof: Kukui, Burnet and their baby daughter Lei. And they were a real family, not just to each other but to you as well. Every time, they asked you about your journey, which Pokémon you caught and how you felt, physically and emotionally alike. And, since Professor Burnet was a researcher of the Aether foundation, you could arrange expeditions into the Ultra Space!
Today, as you stepped into the house, the trio perked up from their positions on the dining table (on the floor, since the table was low and they used cushions instead of real chairs. More practical!). And they smiled, genuinely happy to see you, as always.
Kukui: “Welcome back.” The father set his cap down, offering you a small, gentle smile.
Burnet: “How was your day?” The mother of the family, as openly enthusiastic as always, clasped her hands together and smiled widely.
Even Lei laughed, happy about your presence. A soft, unfiltered and pure sound of joy as she kicked her little legs and slapped the table.
